In some cases, the documentation of such recycled material is the only source of knowledge about the architecture of the original structure, such as the Church of St. Peter and Paul in Zlatníky near Prague, where the burghers of Prague were very involved. Dislocated fragments from the defunct medieval church were extensively reused in the construction of the new church in 1857. They allow the dating of the medieval church latest to the 14th century, perhaps with an early Gothic phase from before 1300.
